While the world disputes who has done what and who has been wronged more, let me remind you that there are hundreds, hundreds, of mothers, fathers, sons and daughters that have seen irreplaceable losses, witnessed unimaginable horrors; the scars of which they will carry forever in their hearts and minds.
Their trauma, a burden and a grief, that will be theirs to carry, perhaps for their entire lifetimes.
So please.
Stop with the gaslighting.
Stop with the whataboutery.
Stop with the but what about the history and the which king ruled when.
Stop with the but oh the poppy cultivation and the illegal immigrants.
Stop with the oh but they started it first.
Stop with the but what about us.
Stop with the but this happens everywhere.
Stop with the but in the northeast it’s different.
Please.
Just please stop.
Sit for a minute and think of what they have gone through.
Think.
For those in positions of power and influence, take some damn time and visit them.
Each one.
Everyone.
Look them in the eye and hear what they have gone through.
No cameras.
No photo ops.
No flashbulbs and hashtags.
Believe me when I tell you, that what you have or may be going through, is but a fraction of what they have experienced.
Don’t discount their horrors.
Do not wish away, deny their stories.
Do not belittle for a minute, their grief, their loss, their bleakness, their gut wrenching, unspeakable pain.
Hold their hands.
Wipe their tears.
Pray with and for them.
And then maybe, just maybe, the healing can begin.
And for those that still, despite the overwhelming evidence, continue to collude, collaborate, partner, align, and whatever else you would like to call this unholy alliance, with the present dispensation, do not and I mean that sincerely, do not for a minute, think that it won’t be you next, served up on a platter, head first.
