This Then Is Us.

 The world is shifting.

Somewhere along the past decade, the axis wobbled and shook, imperceptibly perhaps but shake it did. And then it tilted.

A far right.

Blurring and erasing the lines, merging and reshaping the outlines of,

Decency.

Accountability.

Fair Play.

And let’s not forget good old Common Sense.

The world as we know it, now exists on an alternate reality. The challenges and crises faced are at times, of gargantuan proportions. And yet, for those that are fortunate to live away from these realities, it could almost be just another episode, another reel, a soundbite.

And then onwards to another.

Scroll down, swipe right, change tabs.

It seems our collective shame, our outrage and empathy even, weigh themselves on the balance of, and conditioned by the preset prejudices, affirmations manipulated by the algorithms.

Skynet in effect, now controls us.

The irony of a major part of the population not understanding this analogy is sadly, not lost on me.

And not deep diving into the sheer, moronic stupidity of the online masses, because well, life and people as they say, are but poor players strutting on stage, lost in the cacophony of sound and fury, (another reference sadly lost to the masses) and buried under the nothingness of endless visual orgies.

So, this then is us.

I cannot feel.

Therefore I am.

I cannot love,

For love would

Tear us apart.

Instead this,

Void

The emptying abyss

Because love?

It would be

Me

In your life

And that?

Simply cannot be.

This then is us.
